PGM's visit to Bispham with Norbreck

13th November 2015

The Provincial Grand Master paid a visit to W. Bro Tony Cross, Provincial Grand Junior Wardens Lodge, Bispham with Norbreck Lodge MMM No 886 on Friday 13th November and how the date proved poignant.

It was a very stormy evening and as V W Bro Terry West was arriving at Adelaide St Blackpool a huge gust of wind took him off his feet and blew him down the steps of the hall.

He suffered a very badly cut head and as ex-rays showed a badly bruised hip and leg, after being taken by ambulance to hospital at Blackpool.

W Bro Mel Cross, father of PrGJW Tony, selflessly offered to accompany Terry to hospital and stayed with him for the four hours at A&E, until at his own insistence, Terry was discharged and went home. Mel returned to Adelaide St to catch the last toast of the evening, to absent Brethren.

Terry is making a slow and painful recovery as the bruising on his leg comes out and the dressing on his head will be on until later this week.

Many thanks to Mel Cross, true to his Mark pedigree, for his kind assistance.
PGM.
